In 2016, to reach more of our communities and the wonderful folks who are telling their stories, the Textile Trail staff planned a series of three regional meetings. Thank you our partners who hosted these meetings: The Columbus Museum, the Depot in Carrollton, and the Chieftains Museum in Rome. Each regional meeting focused on four areas selected by our members, including storytelling, marketing, networking, and partnerships. See below for more information about the events and sessions held!

Meeting schedules:

We’ve designed these meetings to bring together those interested in telling their textile stories in these regions–tourism industry professionals; staff and volunteers at historical societies, archives, and museums; economic development specialists, those involved in the textile industry in some way; and any others who want to tell this story.

Each meeting will include a storytelling session, marketing panel, networking lunch, and roundtable to exchange textile-related community happenings and program ideas — each being specific to that region and featuring tourism and marketing professionals as well as local researchers and historians.

Come to one or all three of these meetings to hear textile stories along the Trail and learn what others are doing! Registration includes refreshments, an on-site lunch, and a post-meeting tour at a nearby museum or historic site. Thanks to our meeting hosts this year — The Columbus Museum, the Carrollton Area CVB, and the Chieftains Museum!

Pick up a copy of our brand-new West Georgia Textile Heritage Trail guidebook at the meetings, and our authors will sign it for you!

Registration costs (REGISTRATION CLOSED)

Our costs are very reasonable, thanks to our partners. Textile Trail members pay only $10 for the cost of lunch. Representatives or volunteers of institutional WGTHT members may attend at the member price as well.

Non-members pay $25 per meeting. We invite you to become WGTHT members and pay at the member rate!
